375° - 45 minutes.
Ingredients:
1/3 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 c applesauce
1-1/2 c cake flour
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t allspice
1/2 t nutmet
dash salt
1/2 c raisins
3/4 c chopped nuts
1 c powdered sugar
2 T apple juice
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg and beat well. Stir in applesauce.
In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to butter mix. Stir and beat until well blended. Add raisins and nuts - stir to blend.
Turn batter into greased and lightly floured cake pan. Bake at 375 until cake is done and toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Let cake rest in pan for a few minutes, then turn onto rack. Pour glaze over cake while still warm and garnish with apple slices.
Notes:
Glaze:
Mix 1 c powdered sugar with 2 T apple juice and blend until smooth.
Add food coloring if desired.
